Angelle Mugnier - Ms. True Blue 2007
Angelle was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her first experience with the
military came from listening to her Grandfather tell stories about flying a P-47 during
WWII. Her husband is 1st Lieutenant Ted Mugnier of the United States Marine Corps. He has
been a Marine for four years and will be promoted to Captain in July. They met in 1999 and
later married in October of 2004. His first deployment was March to October 2005 at Al
Asad Airbase, Iraq. He is currently serving a second tour in Iraq. 1st Lt. Mugnier is
stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar where he is an Air Intelligence Officer, and
has worked with CH-53 helicopters and F-18 jets.
Angelle spends her time as a Key Volunteer keeping the families at home apprised of the
goings-on in Iraq. She also sits on the board for the Miramar Officers' Wives' Club. In
the last year she coordinated the Officers' Wives' Charity Golf Tournament, raising
$16,000 for scholarships for active duty spouses and children. Angelle just began a new
career as a consultant for Setting Traditions, a home entertainment and decorating
company. In any spare time she has, Angelle is sending care packages to her husband in
Iraq. Marine families never get settled in one place, and that is true for the Mugnier
family who will be moving to Virginia as soon as 1st Lt. Mugnier returns from deployment.
Angelle is looking forward to helping Air Group One promote patriotism, the air show and
the role that women have in today's military, whether as an active duty or reserve member,
or as the spouse of a military member. The vital and important supporting role many of our
military spouses play can not be emphasized enough. We will also be reminding most
Americans and informing others for the first time that, indeed, "Freedom doesn't come
free."
