Take a ride in a B-25 Mitchell bomber!

Aero Trader will be bringing their excellent North American B-25 Mitchell
bomber to the airshow, and visitors will be able to purchase rides on the aircraft for a once
in a lifetime experience. The B-25 is the same type of plane made famous in Jimmy Doolittle's
raid on Tokyo in April of 1942.

A wide assortment of vintage aircraft will be attending this year

A rare Lockheed 10E Electra (the same type of plane flown by
Amelia Earhart on her final flight) will be shown at the airshow.

FRIDAY JUNE 4 is YOUTH EDUCATION DAY

Friday will be a day for students and children from across San Diego county to come and learn about aviation and aviation history. Experts will be on hand to talk to students about the aircraft on static display, and the roles they played. Note that the actual flying part of the airshow will occur on Saturday and Sunday.
See our Education page for more details on Education Day.

There will be a large Kids' Zone with inflatable attractions, 30 or more merchandise and food vendors, a greatly enlarged parking lot ($5 per car) and live stage shows throughout the day. Gates open at 9 AM, flying starts at 10 AM on Saturday with the opening ceremonies. The airshow will close at 4pm each day.

The CAF is a group of men and women, from all walks of life, dedicated to the preservation of American air power and history of World War II aviation. There are currently over 9,000 CAF members in 27 states and three countries.

Air Group One is the San Diego Wing of the CAF. They are headquartered at their "Military Flying Museum" located on Gillespie Field at 1905 North Marshall, Hangar #6 in El Cajon, California.

Members work together to share the history of this era, to bring a deeper understanding of the sacrifices men and women made to secure the freedoms we enjoy today. They also work to preserve, restore and maintain World War II era aircraft... to "Keep 'Em Flying."

Air Group One proudly presents its Wings Over Gillespie Air Show each year at Gillespie Field. Proceeds from the show benefit the museum.
